Driver education is a 36-hour course: 30 hours in class and six hours behind the wheel. Classroom is usually two weeks Monday-Friday. However, there may be special schedules during Holidays or inclement weather.

  • Do I need to take the driver education course?

    Yes, successful completion of drivers education is a Maryland state requirement.

  • How old do I need to be to take the course?

    You need to be at least 15 years old to take the course.

  • Do I need a learner’s permit to take the driver education course?

    You do not need a learner’s permit to do the classroom portion, but you do need one to do the behind the wheel training with the instructor.

  • What do I need to bring to class on the first day?

    • Notebook and pen
    • Photocopy of learner’s permit
    • $5.00 workbook fee

  • Do I need to have my parent with me on the first day?

    There is a brief orientation for one parent/guardian at the beginning of the first class for students who are under 18 years old.

  • What if I miss a day of class?

    Per the MVA the first day of class is mandatory. If a student misses the first day of class, they will not be able to attend that class session. Any other classes missed may be made up in a future session. However, a student may not miss more than 4 days

  • What if I am late for class?

    Students have a 15 minute grace period when running late to class.

  • Do you have driving classes for adults?

    Our driving classes are for teens and adults. The driving course of class is a Maryland state requirement for anyone who plans to receive a Maryland state Drivers License.

  • What is the difference between a teen driving school and an adult driving school?

    Both teens and adults are required to take the same drivers education course.
